Dice Net

The dice is a most familiar object, the most common being a cube, and it forms the basis for an ideal shapes and nets activity. Most children will be familiar with what a dice looks like and will often make a quick connection between the 3D Shape, a cube for example, and the dice net.

There is so much learn from handling a cube in a dice project, it has polygons, corners, dimensions, symmetry, volume, area, depth, width, height, right angles, lines, sides, Nets, vertices, faces, perimeter ...  and you get to print out the net of a dice and build it too!

'Shapes and Nets' will display the 3rd angle projection for all the 3D shapes and models you create on the screen. Here are a couple of examples of 3rd angle projections using the cube and dodecahedron dice shapes.
