SpexWorld! School - What is it.

Have lots of fun planning and designing the rooms in a school. You can design and furnish single or multiple room shapes or use Spex's simple room planner to design a whole floor plan: classroom, IT Room, Gym and changing rooms etc. Decide upon room sizes and a budget to spend and see the furniture and fittings on a simple spreadsheet.

When beginning to design a School, choose from a selection of simple room shapes or use one of the ready made layouts with two or three rooms. Some example room shapes are shown on this page.

Once the room layout has been planned it can be furnished by dragging items of furniture into the rooms, rotating them and moving them around until you are happy.

You can see your school in the plan view and in 3D view and in perspective or orthographic views, and you can walk around inside your virtual school.

Once the room shape and dimensions have been chosen you can start placing the furniture. All the furniture can be moved around and rotated and you can display the 3D and Plan Views at any time.

At any time you can click on the Go-In button and use the arrow keys to walk around inside your virtual SpexWorld!

Budget, Graphs and Spreadsheet

SpexWorld! School has a budget facility and a simple spreadsheet to help pupils learn about budgeting, handling and managing money. Change the prices and see how this affects the spreadsheet. Pupils also become familiar with shapes, space and dimensions, proportion and symmetry as they design and furnish different shaped rooms.

There are graphs and charts including 2D and 3D bar graphs, line graph and a pie chart which display the items and costs. Toggle between the Orthographic and Perspective views of your school plan design and walk around it to see what it feels like for real!
