We purchased a site license for TABS+ for our middle school and we
LOVE it! Students and teachers alike have found it easy to use, intuitive and accurate. Oh, it's really fun, too!
Also, I think it fits in beautifully with our computer curriculum as the 3-D
modelling component.

Our pupils actually get excited to learn! |

I am usually training teachers to use Tabs+ in their classroom, but today I
am at Randolph School, NY working directly with 8th grade math students. It is amazing to see how fast the students pick-up Tabs+
software. They are eager to design and actually excited to learn about coordinate pairs, orthographic views, nets, dimensions, alignment, scale
and units. Using Tabs+ proves to them why math concepts are important.
Today their task was to design a Rocket System using 3 shapes: the cylinder, the funnel and the cone. They must use each shape at least once,
the total volume of the rocket system may not exceed 100 cubic centimeters,
and all nets for the rocket must fit on one page. After a short review and demonstration I walked around the computer lab answering questions and
giving feedback. They were not required to construct the rocket, but many
students wanted to. It was fun, the students were all successful, and not
one rocket looked like another!

| "… My job is to investigate and find "good" software that helps students learn and successfully attain the requirements of the New York State learning Standards. I first heard about TABS+ three years ago, and since then have trained kindergarten as well as high school technology teachers. What I like most about this software is the ability for students of all ages to create, design, model and build their ideas.
The recent version (version 3.0) of TABS+ integrates several shapes of architecture, platonic solids, and geometry, in addition to the basic design shapes. These features allow flexibility and diversity among content integration, specifically with Math, Science and Technology. Teachers, who use TABS+ in conjunction with my Teacher Training Web site, learn and develop skills like orthographic projection, 2D to 3D modeling, nets, ergonomics, as well as understanding of the invention process.
I highly recommend TABS+ as a K - 12 software piece to every school district.
